"He's able to read my emotions," Lauren explains. "When I'm having a panic attack, he will crawl on me and stay by my side until it passes. If I had a hard day, he will give me kisses and climb on my face."

"Raising a capuchin monkey is very similar, I would assume, as to raising a human infant," Lauren describes. "They are all-time inclusive; they require huge commitment and a lot of time."
For the first year of Emerson's life, Lauren didn't work so she could stay home with him 24/7. "He was more or less attached to me at the hip. He went everywhere that I did, from cooking dinner to showering. Everything in the house, he was on my shoulder riding my arm."
